The complex includes the city itself, plus another 23 sets associated with proximity and functionality, containing the Muyna Wakarpay lagoon, with a suggestive landscape considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Pikillaqta was built during the height of the Wari culture in the year 500 or 900. This great urban and ceremonial center of almost 2 km in length, consists of a citadel surrounded by walls and walls up to 7m high. There are numerous deposits, qolqas or granaries and in almost all the constructions small stones joined with mud have been used.
ANDAHUAYLILLAS:
It is a welcoming town, with a warm and fairly benign climate as a result of being surrounded by mountains and the left bank of the "Vilcanota" river, below which it is known as "Urubamba". The lands have a privileged fertility and its people are calm and pleasant In its immense main square, adorned with rams and palm trees, its main attraction is the colonial church of Andahuaylillas, considered the "Sistine Chapel" of the Americas, due to the quality of the works of art that are inside. This church was built on some important Inca construction, possibly a "Huaca" as the foundation of the church was made with carved andesites, its own Quechua religious architecture, in turn around the remains of other Inca constructions, highlighting the portal of transitional architecture on the western side of the church with sculptures of two quadrupeds on its lintel.
