DAY 1
  1. Pick up from the hotel
  2. 4:20 a.m. at 4:50 a.m. we will pick up from your hotel
  3. 2 hours later we go to the town of Mollepata
  4. Then we go to Challacancha
  5. Within 5 hours of travel we will arrive at the base of the camp called Soraypampa

DAY 2
  1. Tour start at 6:00 am
  2. During 4 to 5 hours we will arrive at the Salkantay mountain range
  3. Then we go to the Chaullay
  4. Then we go to Challacancha
  5. Within 5 hours of travel we will arrive at the base of the camp called Soraypampa
  6. Then we go to the humantay lagoon

 

DAY 3
  1. 6:30 a.m. we will start the walk in a jungle
  2. Then we go to the Hydroelectric
  3. Then we go to hot waters where he will spend the night
  4. Then we go to Challacancha
  5. Within 5 hours of travel we will arrive at the base of the camp called Soraypampa
  6. Then we go to the humantay lagoon

 

DAY 4
  1. 4:00 a.m. we will start the walk
  2. Then we go to Machu Picchu
  3. Then we return at 11:00 am to the Hydroelectric by Bus (Cheaper Ways) 
  4. Then we return at 14:30 or 19:00 pm by Train (The Traditional Way) 
  5. Then we return to the city of Cusco

Itinerary

Day 1:
Cusco - Mollepata - Challacancha - Soraypampa - Humantay Lagoon
distance 12 klm (5 hours of travel) between 4:20 a.m. at 4:50 a.m. We will pick you up from your hotel - Cusco in our tourist bus, then we will go with a trip to the town of Mollepata (height of 2900mt-9514 feet) which is at a distance of approximately 2 hours from the city of Cusco , where we will take a break of about 20 minutes where you can prepare with last minute supplies or anything you have forgotten in the city (water, rain poncho, insect repellent , etc.). Then we will continue our trip to the place of Challacancha, which is the beginning of the walk (height of 3600 mt-11500 ft.); Then we will have 5 hours of travel along the road until we reach the base of the camp called Soraypampa (height 3912 mt -12834 ft.); where we will have lunch enjoying the panoramic view of mountains, breathing the thin air of mountains and their geography like the snow-capped Humantay (4200 mt- 13779 ft) and also the Nevado del Salkantay (6271 mt-20575 ft), after a break we will make an ascent for 1 hour of walk towards the Humantay lagoon and then we will return to the base of the camp where we will have time to have a tea and also dinner.
Day 2:
Soraypampa - Paso Salkantay - Huayrapunku - Chaullay
distance 22 km (9 hours of travel) This is the most difficult day of the trek, for this reason we get up at 5:00 a.m. and breakfast will be 5:30 a.m. our walk will begin 6:00 a.m .; "However, waking up at dawn in the middle of the vast grasslands of Soraypampa, the sun illuminating the Andean mountain peaks gushing out from behind makes for an energizing and fascinating start to a good day of hiking." Now we make an ascent to the pass lasting 3 to 4 hours of walking along the road until we reach the Salkantay pass (height 4630 mt-15190 ft) “Although the air is scarce and it is steep”; Once you have crossed the pass we will have a traditional Andean ceremony with the whole group, then we will make a descent to the place of Huayrapunku (height 3912 mt-12834 ft) where we will have a lunch and then we will continue to the second Chaullay camp (height 2900 mt- 9514 ft). "On the road to Chaullay there are several tent camps and small villages scattered among the plains, and it is amazing to think that there are a handful of local people who are permanently living so far removed from modern society and in such harsh natural conditions."
Day 3:
Chaullay - Playa Sahuayo - Hydroelectric - Aguas Calientes
(distance 15km - 8 hours of travel) (distance 15km - 8 hours of travel) We woke up early for the day like 6:00 a.m. and we have breakfast at 6:30 am, we will begin the walk in a jungle at the height of a very beautiful geography of rivers between the plains, waterfalls and raging streams where we can appreciate the flora and fauna of this place such as orchid plantations Cacao, coffee, fruit trees of coca, bananas, papaya, avocado, granadilla and birds such as hummingbird, parrots and rooster of the rocks, and pumas are exceptionally rare, etc. The views of the valley are enough to occupy your mind during the 4 hours of walking until you reach Sahuayo Beach (2064 mt - 6771 ft); where we will have a lunch and then we will have to take a taxi to get to the Hidroelectrica (for this transport the payment is US $ 10 extra not included); where we will meet on the way with another Group that left a day before us and we will join this one and then we will make a walk along the train tracks to Aguas Calientes to sleep in a private Hotel.
Day 4
Aguas Calientes - Tour to Machu Picchu
distance 5 km (1 hour ½ trip) This day we will start very early at 4:00 a.m. The first part of the trip is flat for ½ hour and for 1 hour we ascend the road to Machu Picchu where we will arrive at approximately 6 a.m. to see and enjoy the sunrise and have a visit in Machu Picchu with our professional guide for an average of 2 hours of tour and then you will have free time to do your personal exploration in the citadel of Machu Picchu. Cheaper Way by Bus

Then from 11.00 am we have to leave the city of Machu Picchu to begin our walk for 3 more hours to the Hydroelectric where we will board our bus to return to the city of Cusco. The return is included in the bus from the Hydroelectric plant at 2:45 p.m. and arriving in Cusco between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. (Approximately 6 hours of travel).

The Traditional Way by Tren

You will return by train, it can be at 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. that will depend on the availability of the trains (PeruRail or IncaRail) the time is 2 hours by train and 2 hours by car until you reach Cusco.

Pick up of guests
Machu Picchu Vip can pick you up from your hotel, as long as it’s in the Historical Center of Cusco. Your guide will coordinate the pickup time in the briefing session, but please keep in mind that the time may vary between 20 and 35 minutes due to traffic.
Group Tours
Group tours are made up of different types of people, then physical conditions and ages can vary. By agreeing to be part of a group tour, you also accept that some people may be faster or slower than you. Therefore, each person can go at their own pace on the route. It may be the case that a group wishes to modify the tour; however, the guide will be the one who decides, after consulting with all the participants, if such modifications are possible.
Strikes in cusco
Are usually common in Peru, and this may interrupt some of our tours. Roads can be blocked, and train tracks can be taken over. However, we will try to keep your trip as originally planned, even if it means leaving the night before the scheduled date. Under these circumstances, tours may also be canceled. In case of changes or cancellations, everything will be coordinated with you by our operations department. Your safety is our highest priority, and our decisions will be made to protect it.
Lost objects
